MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Several of the 18 cast iron dogs that will call South Main Plaza home made a sneak-peek appearance at the fountain site recently as the sculptures were test fitted for water hookup to the fountain. The Plaza is located on the corner of South Main and West Gambier streets in downtown Mount Vernon.

A passionate group of leaders, dedicated to hosting the reunion have been meeting on campus to lead this very special event. They hope that many two-year graduating class members will attend the very first Pioneer Spirit Reunion on Homecoming Weekend, November 15-16. MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The MVNU Community Music School is pleased to announce its 2019 fall programs. This year’s offerings feature classes for beginning guitar, piano, voice and ukulele. Group and individual lessons are available for most band, orchestra and percussion instruments. A specialized Musikgarten “Music Makers” class for elementary age students is also available. Second year classes for beginner guitar, piano and ukulele will be offered for continuing or intermediate level students. Programs will start the week of Sept. 16.

WNZR’s Lifeline 2019 surpasses goal

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — WNZR 90.9 FM, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, is celebrating the success of Lifeline 2019, the radio station’s annual fundraiser. Lifeline 2019 was held in late March with a goal of $64,000. This year’s effort brought in $72,032, and the total continues to rise. Blessed with over 232 ministry partners, the WNZR staff was greatly encouraged and extremely thankful for the community’s support.
