CURRICULUM

The Online Master’s in Education—Professional Educator’s License program includes both intensive coursework and two field experiences (75 clock hours each) with student interaction, including development and delivery of lessons. This includes the following

In the first field experience, student teachers observe and interact with students—as well as plan and teach three lessons—while gaining experience in a specific subject or area. In the second field experience, student teachers continue to build their skills by observing and interacting with students (including the planning and teaching of lessons) in an urban district with a diverse student population.

A 12-week student teaching assignment follows the completion of field experience and coursework.

RESIDENT EDUCATOR LICENSURE

Upon completion of the MA in Education degree, students have an additional three years to apply for their Ohio teaching license. The initial license required for teachers is the Resident Educator License. After three years, additional coursework and/or other conditions may be required for teaching licensure.   • Ohio Educator Assessments ($115-$139 per exam)

  • Ohio teaching license application ($160 for 4-year, Resident Educator’s license)

Once a student enrolls in the Online MA in Education, their tuition is locked in for the duration of their enrollment—that’s our tuition guarantee. Course-by-course payments are due by or before the first evening the class is held.
