The Student Travel Ambassador program is a new endeavor that kicked off in the Admissions Office in the fall of 2017. The STAs are current MVNU students who are trained in a similar fashion as our Admissions Counselors and sent out as MVNU representatives. They participate in college fairs, church visits, and youth conferences. Our STAs are students that are excited to share their MVNU experience with high school and middle school students. If you’d like to schedule an STA to attend an event please contact Cheryl Sharpes at for more information.

Our current student travel ambassadors are:

  • Caleb AleshireCaleb Aleshire – Caleb is a junior from Hebron, Ohio. He’s pursuing a degree in Theology with an Associate degree in Music. Caleb is involved on campus as a member of the jazz band, a small group leader, works with Columbia Kids, and is a member of the Professional Ambassador Crew. His hobbies include music, camping, and politics. Fun Fact: Caleb has a fear of horses.
  • Megan CuevasMegan Cuevas – Megan is a junior from Heath, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology. Megan is involved on campus in intramural sports, a member of the Professional Ambassador Crew, and is a tour guide for the Admissions Office. Her hobbies include listening to music, volleyball, and playing the ukulele. Fun Fact: Megan is 50% Chilean and Spanish was the first language she learned as a child.
  • Hope EstepHope Estep – Hope is a senior from South Charleston, West Virginia. She’s pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and is active in small groups on campus. Her hobbies include watercolor painting, macramé, and most anything crafty. Fun Fact: Hope’s dad and her grandpa have both been Nazarene pastors at the same church for a total of 56 years.
  • Sarah FanningSarah Fanning – Sarah is a senior from Mount Vernon, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in English and History and a Math/Science Endorsement. Sarah is involved on campus on the Track and Field team, MVNU Theater, Ignite Worship Night, and Columbia Kids. Her hobbies include working out, hiking, camping, painting, violin, dirt-biking, and eating ice cream. Fun Fact: Sarah says if she could do anything in the world she would become an actress and a motivational speaker for middle school girls.
  • Esther HartEsther Hart – Esther is a sophomore from Wooster, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Public Relations with a minor in Business. Esther is involved on campus as the Vice President of Social Life, is part of intercultural life, and works in the Admissions Office as a tour guide and Admissions Counselor Assistant. Esther’s hobbies include eating ice cream, stargazing, and building relationships with others. Fun Fact: The first time Esther played basketball competitively, she dislocated her finger at the first practice. Since then, she’s learned to stick to volleyball and tennis.
  • Tiffany LawrenceTiffany Lawrence (Impact STA)  – Tiffany is a junior from Kingsville, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Social Work with a minor in Intercultural Studies. Tiffany is involved on campus as a small group leader and switchboard operator. Her hobbies include playing tennis, baking, music, watching movies, and spending time with her friends, family, and her dog. Fun Fact: Tiffany lived in the jungle for two weeks during her sophomore year of college!
  • Royce LyonsRoyce Lyons – Royce is a senior from Winfield, West Virginia. She’s pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology. Royce is involved on campus as the President of National Student Speech, Hearing, and Language Association. She’s also a student clinician in the MVNU Speech and Hearing clinic. Her hobbies include hiking, playing board games with her friends, and attending concerts. Fun Fact: Royce will be the second person ever to graduate from MVNU’s newest major – Communication Sciences and Disorders.
  • Jayna MorehouseJayna Morehouse – Jayna is a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Middle Childhood Education. Jayna is involved in chapel band, intramural sports, and working as a student worker in the Admissions Office. Her hobbies include tennis, reading, and watching movies. Fun Fact: Jayna attended culinary school.
  • Abigail O'NeilAbigayle O’Neil (Impact STA) – Abby is a sophomore from Pickerington, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her hobbies include exploring small coffee shops and watching hockey games. Fun Fact: Abby has a different pair of Christmas socks for each day in December leading up to Christmas.
  • Michaela PatrickMichaela Patrick – Michaela is a sophomore from Taylor Mill, Kentucky. She’s pursuing a degree in Christian Ministries (Youth Ministry track) with a minor in Communication Studies. Michaela is involved on campus as a small group leader, is a member of the Professional Ambassador Crew, and she works in the mail room and Admissions Office. Her hobbies include long boarding and hanging out with her apartment mates. Fun Fact: Michaela leads worship for Ignite, a weekly student run prayer group on campus.
  • Katie PonsartKatie Ponsart (Bible Quizzing STA) – Katie is a junior from Eastlake, Ohio. She’s pursuing a degree in Youth Ministry with a track in Ordination. Katie is involved on campus as a Resident Assistant and Switchboard Operator. Her hobbies include watching Netflix and playing with cats. Fun Fact: Katie loves plants and succulents.
  • Stephanie RodeheaverStephanie Rodeheaver (Bible Quizzing STA) – Stephanie is a junior from Charleston, West Virginia. She’s pursuing a degree in Marketing with a minor in Financial Planning. Stephanie is involved on campus as a small group leader, a member of Gamma Delta, as a tutor, intramurals, and works in Student Financial Services. Her hobbies include reading, music, writing, photography, and Bible journaling. Fun Fact: Stephanie loves hockey and has been to several professional hockey games. Her favorite teams are the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Nashville Predators.
  • Kennedy SmithKennedy Smith – Kennedy is a senior from Sabina, Ohio. She’s pursuing degrees in Intercultural Studies and Spanish with a concentration in TESOL. Her hobbies include reading, calligraphy, and anything crafty. She also loves to travel and is always looking for her next adventure. Fun Fact: Kennedy has been to 48 out of the 50 states.
  • Logan StroudLogan Stroud (Bible Quizzing STA) – Logan is a senior from Blanchester, Ohio. He’s pursuing a degree in Integrated Mathematics Education with a minor in Adult Ministries. Logan is involved on campus in the Collegians Choir, Goliards Choir, intramural volleyball, school musicals, and working in the Admission Office. His hobbies include card games, musicals, and volleyball. Fun Fact: Logan considers himself to be a semi-pro Draw Something artist.
